There is really only a handful of shows that will either star or feature menswear at next month’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (including Emma Mulholland, Vanishing Elephant, Zambesi, Han and Romance Was Born). But that hasn’t stopped Australian model agencies from putting a swag of their best new male recruits forward for castings over the next fortnight. Of note, eMg Models and its mens show pack, which includes some intriguing new faces.

Frockwriter has covered a number of new eMg men, from Nathaniel Visser and Elijah Tyedmers at January’s menswear shows in Europe to Jack Vanderhart, who first emerged in 2011.

New to MBFWA this year are the following 10 eMg names:

Mackenzie Baker has some excellent industry connections. He's the 18 year-old son of Hermès Australia managing director Karin Upton Baker - and the nephew of photographer Simon Upton. Whilst studying engineering at Sydney University, Baker recently decided to give modelling a go. Having already caught the eye of influential Australian stylist and art director Mark Vassallo, we hear he has already confirmed several shows.

We also like Nicolas Pestalozzi, a 19 year-old Arts student from Sydney, who was, the agency reports, scouted at Bondi by Ksubi’s Dan Single and who has just shot editorials for Oyster and Manuscript.
