Girls on film: Abbey Lee Kershaw on the set of Mad Max 4

Not much came from the might-be-working-with-Steven Spielberg Chinese whisper, but the speculation wasn't too far from the truth: Abbey Lee Kershaw has joined the cast of Mad Max 4: Fury Road. Following months of anonymous tip offs, Kershaw's Australian modelling agency Chic Management has confirmed to frockwriter that she has indeed been cast in the film and is currently on set in Namibia's Dorob National Park. And now the first photographic evidence.

In a set of paparazzi images watermarked Newscom that have found their way into the public domain via several ALK fan sites and movie blogs, Kershaw is pictured on the set of what looks to be a post-apocalyptic monster rig.

Wearing a full-length brown coat and a white bonnet in the set photos, Kershaw appears to be in one of the costumes designed by Oscar-winning Brit Jenny Beaven, whose previous work includes A Room With View, Gosford Park, Sherlock Holmes and The King's Speech.

Directed by George Miller, Mad Max 4 stars Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, fellow supermodel-turned-actor Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Zoe Kravitz, Australian actor Adelaide Clemens and Riley Keough, another model/actor and the grand-daughter of Elvis Presley.

Although Chic Management declined to elaborate on Kershaw's exact role and the film's Namibian production office did not respond to frockwriter's enquiries, speculation is rife that Kershaw is playing one of the story's "five wives", to whom Zoe Kravitz recently alluded in an interview.

Judging by Huntington-Whiteley's Tweets from the set over the past week, including this shot of Kershaw, below, Huntington-Whiteley, Kershaw, Kravitz, Keough and Clemens look to be fairly tight, so perhaps that's the case.
