Battle of the skeletors: Katie vs Posh

You are probably going to hear a lot about these two ads on mainstream sites. But here they are for anyone who did not already spot them on their overnight feeds: Katie Holmes in the new Miu Miu campaign and Victoria Beckham modelling Emporio Amani underwear. Both campaigns are due to bow in February issues and both of these first looks were, curiously, released yesterday in the northern hemisphere. Some have already pointed out the similarities in haircuts and facial expressions. Far more alarming however, in frockwriter’s view, is the amount of Photoshopping that appears to have been done on Holmes in the Miu Miu ad.

Katie looks like she's about to shoot laser beams out of her eyes.

that Miu Miu image is awful.
as far as creating an image that makes me want to buy Miu Miu products, it's an epic fail.
in fact, i'm considering retiring my Miu Miu handbag in protest.

as far as generating publicity however, epic victory.

but i honestly don't think all publicity is good publicity, at least not in this case.

"hail xenu!" ROFLMAO Patty! Good one.

I rather like the Posh ad, actually. But then I have always loved venetian blind dapples for lingerie shots...

(p.s. How ironic - the word verification for my post is 'carion'. AHEM lol)

It's a little....severe. Still, very different from her current mature lady otherworldliness...

They should stop trying to beat Gainsbourg for Balenciaga.

I must say I've been the new Prada campaign and I loved it but Miu Miu campaign in general are getting old and boring. It's been the same formula for ahwile now. I don't think its katie's fault that the campaign looks dull but they just need a fresh direction, although it was very kinda creepy xenu kinda etc...
Oh how photoshop is Vicky in the Armani underwear ads??!!

Oh no, not keen on the Xenu camp at all.

Compare these horrors to last year's glorious campaign with Kirsten Dunst. xx
